Foothills Community Christian School is excited to be participating in the 8th annual National School Choice Week (NSCW).  Since its start in 2011, NSCW is the largest annual celebration of opportunity in education. There have been over 58,000 events planned across the country and world in the past 7 years.

We will be hosting a variety of events and activities throughout the week to showcase our students and teachers and educate the public on the value of school choice.  The schedule of events and activities is as follows:

Monday, January 22 our students and families will receive school choice week scarves to kick off the week’s activities.  There will be an “Eat Teriyaki to Raise Cash” fundraiser from 11am-8pm at our local Teriyaki Madness located at 1710 10th Ave South.  Teriyaki Madness will make a donation of 20% of every adult entrée or kids bowl purchases for anyone who brings in a Foothills fundraiser flyer or presents it on their device.  All proceeds from this event will be directed to the scholarship fund at Foothills to provide financial assistance to new and returning students at Foothills.

Tuesday, January 23 is the Foothills Science Fair for grades 4-8.  Students will be presenting their projects Tuesday morning from 8:45am-11:00am in the gymnasium and 4th-7th grade classrooms.  Students will be sharing their results from experiments in the areas of forces and motion, sound and light, electricity and magnetism, and earth science.

Wednesday, January 24 will be a Foothills all-school chapel service from 11:55am-12:35pm in the Foothills chapel.  Students in grades K-12 will share in a time of student led worship.  Foothills families and community members are welcome to join us for this time of worship and celebration.

Thursday, January 25 is our schoolwide geography bee starting at 8:15am.  Thursday evening from 6pm-7pm is our School Choice Week Open House.  Prospective families as well as interested community members, local media and others are invited to join us to learn more about the Foothills choice.  Students, staff and teachers will be available to share about our school, our Christ-centered education, and the value of school choice in our community.
