Foothills High School Software Class Brings Technology to the River's Edge Trail!

By using an app on their smartphone to scan a QR code, trail users will be instantly able to watch a short one to two minute video created by Foothills high school students detailing facts and history on the River's Edge Trail. This is the second QR Code to be put in place as part of Foothills Community Christian School's "Scan the Trail" project. This project highlights points of interest and offers trail users a chance to learn fun and historical facts about Great Falls while enjoying one our city's greatest outdoor attractions, The River's Edge Trail.

Thanks to a PPL Montana Community Fund Grant, our high school software class was able to purchase equipment to produce these videos. The short videos feature a script written by Foothills students, video footage filmed by Foothills students, and the entire piece was produced and edited by Foothills students as part of their curriculum for this class. The voice you hear on the video is a Foothills student as well.

Missouri River Float…Fun in the Sun

The high school students spent the day rafting on the Missouri River thanks to Montana River Outfitters who donated use of their rafts. From Stickney Creek to Prewett Creek, the 9-12th graders paddled their way through the scenic landscape, building friendships and making memories.

Congratulations to Ally Pennell, Rachel Wilson, and Kelsey Young this year’s Deloris Russell Scholarship recipients. This $800 gift to each of these students is such a blessing. Her legacy lives on ~ a yearly gift to three outstanding students in memory of this wonderful lady. Thank you to Jack Russell, Linda Stirling and the rest of the Russell family for continuing this scholarship.
